UK data on households with NRPF supported by councils now being reported quarterly

NRPF Connect data published for Q1 and Q2 of financial year 2024-25

In response to requests from councils, we are publishing quarterly data from NRPF Connect for the first time. We are initially publishing reports for quarter one (Q1) and quarter two (Q2) of the 2024/25 financial year.

The national data reports and regional breakdowns of local authority support for families, adults with care and support needs, and children and care leavers with no recourse to public funds, are now available for Q1 and Q2. Councils can also request reports of their own data. Annual reports will still be published each year with quarterly reports published in the interim.

Readers should note a change in the headline data we are presenting. Annual and quarterly figures will now be an exact count of all costs logged in the reporting period. Previously, key spending figures extrapolated weekly costs to an annual spending figure i.e. weekly cost at the end of the report multiplied by 52.

To mirror this change, other analysis will consist of data provided throughout the reporting period. For example, immigration status data will refer to all households that have been supported throughout the full quarter (even if they opened and closed during that time), rather than being a snapshot of households supported at the end of the reporting period.

In future, data will be downloaded one quarter after the end of the reporting period. For example, Q1 data will be downloaded at the end of Q2. This is to give users time to update their costs and caseloads. Cases that are added after the cut-off date will not appear in the quarterly report.

We hope these reports are useful. Please get in touch if you have any questions, feedback, or suggestions about the reports. Please also contact us if you need any support using NRPF Connect.
