Some online services unavailable on Saturday 23 November and Monday 25 November

Due to essential maintenance some of our online services will be unavailable over the next few days.

  • On Saturday 23 November between 9am–5pm you will be unable to view your council tax, council tax support and housing benefits accounts or documents while we upgrade our systems.
  • On Monday 25 November between 6–11pm our online parking services will be unavailable. During this time, you won’t be able to review or pay for parking tickets or buy parking permits or visitor vouchers.

Local and national support services if you have been affected by non-recent child abuse

Islington Survivors Trauma Service

Provide confidential psychological support for anyone who has been emotionally affected by experiences of abuse in Islington Children’s homes or while under the care of Islington council between the 1960s to 1995.

Manor Gardens (N7)

Can provide low-cost counselling based on a person's ability to pay to enable people to look after their mental wellbeing.
Provide professional support for people who need access to therapeutic help. 

Manor Gardens have developed a successful community-based model to facilitate access to psychotherapy; and provide opportunities for people to explore feelings and gain some insight into psychodynamic psychotherapy and the benefits of such therapy. 

They also provide a psycho-educational group which is a specific type of group therapy that focuses on addressing people’s experiences, difficulties and ways of coping. Psycho-educational groups consist of members who share similar difficulties. The psycho-education focuses primarily on coping with specific difficulties but also the client's own strengths, resources and on developing skills and insights in order to contribute to their own health and wellness on a long-term basis.

Samaritans

Stress Project (N7)

At the Stress Project they provide a range of low cost therapies and wellbeing activities for people experiencing mental health problems. They offer a safe and caring environment and provide a holistic service that treats the whole person, not just the illness.

The National Association for People Abused in Childhood (NAPAC)

The National Association for People Abused in Childhood (NAPAC) is a charity which offers support to adult survivors of all types of childhood abuse, including physical, sexual, emotional abuse or neglect. 

NAPAC's trained staff speak with survivors of any type of childhood abuse over the phone, exploring the options available to them such as support groups and counselling to help empower callers to move forward. NAPAC also supports family members, friends and professionals who are helping someone who was abused, advising them on who else can help. The NAPAC website provides a wealth of information and advice, including a postcode searchable database which lists local trusted organisations who can offer free or low-cost on-going support.
