Childhood obesity
Families for Life
Families for Life is a free healthy lifestyle programme for all families living with a child aged 2 to 11 years who live, are at school, or are registered with a GP in Islington.
Families for Life includes:
- Family Kitchen programmes, where parents and their children make delicious meals and sit and eat together. Programmes are four to six weeks long.
- Taste Education programmes, where parents and children explore vegetables and fruit using all their senses. At the end of the session, children are more willing to try new vegetables and fruit. Programmes are five weeks long.
- One-off Family Kitchen sessions as part of Lunch Bunch or Bright Start over Easter, summer and winter holidays.
Families for Life activities are delivered in community centres, early years settings and schools across the borough.
