• OurBike: Hire an electric cargo bike by the minute from our community scheme OurBike. It's an easy way to efficiently transport your loads at an affordable price, and better for the environment. 

Parking for hire bikes 

We have introduced 250 hire bike parking bays across the borough. These bays are mainly on the carriageway (or road) to keep the pavements clear for pedestrians and vulnerable groups.

Where you can park

You can park:

• Inside the bay. Each bay is marked with "Cycle Hire Only", have white lines, and bollards at each corner.
• Outside the Exclusion Zone. The Exclusion Zone is 100 metres around the bay. You cannot park inside the Exclusion Zone.

How to find a bay

The hire bike company's app will guide you to the nearest bay and show you the Exclusion Zones and No Parking Zones. You can't end your ride in a No Parking Zone.

What happens if you don't follow these rules

You could get warnings, fines or even be banned by the bike operators.

Future plans

At first, there might be some gaps in bay coverage. We plan to add more bays to ensure good coverage across the borough, so bays should be a short walk away.

Once there are enough bays, the Exclusion Zones will be removed. You'll then only be able to start and end rides in the designated bays.

If you see hire bikes causing a problem on your street, contact the hire bike company directly.
