Graffiti is against the law
The police or any officers authorised by the council can issue a fixed penalty notice of £80 for graffiti offences.
It is termed as criminal damage which carries a maximum custodial sentence of ten years.
Graffiti is not just a criminal offence, it can also have a negative impact on the lives of those whose neighbourhoods, parks, and property are affected by it and every year we have to spend thousands of pounds of taxpayers’ money removing it.
Report it
We work closely with the police and others to identify and prosecute graffiti offenders. You can also help us to tackle the issue by reporting it.
You can report it in the following ways:
- Download the Love Clean Streets app to your phone. From Google Play or the Apple store.
- Log into your My Islington account. If you don’t have an account and want to track your reports and access more services like council tax, register now.
- Report anonymously through the Love Clean Streets website. You won’t be able to track your report if you choose this option.
