My eAccount, payments and online forms unavailable - Sunday 9 March from 9am to 5pm

We will be doing important maintenance on our website from 9am until 5pm on Sunday 9 March. This means that you won't be able to use My eAccount, pay for services or fill in some online forms during this time.

If you can't do what you need to, try again later. We're very sorry if you are affected by this essential work.

Apply for a refund

If you have overpaid your council tax then you can get a refund

If you have overpaid your council tax because you are moving or have moved then you can get a refund for the amount you have overpaid.

If you're not sure if you are owed anything, check your final bill. Your bill will show that you owe a negative amount. You will see a '-' sign in front of the 'amount owed' box.

View your final bill in My Islington if you are signed up to paperless billing. If you are not signed up to paperless billing, your bill will be sent to you in the post.

You need to login or register to My Islington in order to apply for a refund. This is to ensure we can contact you if we require further information on your application.

Make sure you have your council tax account number ready. You can find this on your bill or other council tax letter.

If your council tax account is in joint names but you want the refund to go to only one person on the account, we can refund to one person with the written agreement of all the named account holders. We will ask for this information from you if we need it.
